Hilda Raz is the Luschei editor of PRAIRIE SCHOONER and professor of English and Women's and Gender Studies. Her most recent books are ALL ODD AND SPLENDID, poetry from Wesleyan University Press, WHAT BECOMES YOU, memoir with Aaron Raz Link, published in the American Lives series by the University of Nebraska Press (finalist in two categories for the Lambda Literary Award), and WHAT HAPPENS, Bison Books, U. of Nebraska P.. Previous books include TRANS (Wesleyan), DIVINE HONORS (Wesleyan), LIVING ON THE MARGINS (Persea), and others. She is the founding director and editor of the annual PRAIRIE SCHOONER Book Prizes in Short Fiction and Poetry.

- My experience writing and publishing, editing a major literary quarterly, and teaching undergraduate and graduate students provides them with a practical fix on contemporary writing and publishing. Students contribute their own ideas about news that stays news, Ezra Pound's definition of art.
