Appointment Policy

The Writing Center offers 25 or 50 minute consultations sessions. Due to the popularity of our services, we recommend that writers call ahead and schedule appointments at our Andrews location, but writers are always welcome for walk-in appointments if we are not already booked. Our satellite centers offer walk-in appointments only. Writers may visit us on a one-time basis or they have the option of scheduling a standing appointment. A standing appointment involves meeting with the same consultant at the same time every week in Andrews Hall. Standing appointments are helpful for individuals who are committed to developing as writers over time or for those who are working on long-term projects such as dissertations or theses.

Attendance Policy

If you are more than 10 minutes late for your appointment without calling to let us know that you are behind schedule, then your appointment may be given to another person. If you cannot make it to your appointment, please be considerate and call to let us know that your time can be given to someone else.

Non-Disclosure Policy

The Writing Center remains committed to the policy that students’ work in the center is confidential. While students can and frequently do share their Writing Center experiences with their instructors, the center’s consultants cannot discuss individual students’ work with classroom instructors, or confirm through verbal or written response whether a student has visited the center. This policy facilitates an environment where students may visit the Writing Center by choice and decide how much of their work in the center they share with others.

To make an appointment, schedule class visits, workshops, and orientations, or to ask questions or offer comments, please call us at 472-8803 or stop by to see us in person at either 115 Andrews Hall or 119 Sandoz Residence Hall.

We look forward to working with you!
